"This pertains to the Healthcare Insurance vertical: I wouldn't say Cognizant has been any better for women to work for than most other companies. Being able to work from home allows a lot of flexibility in some ways, but not in the actual business hours, especially below a certain level. A lot of flexibility exists here for certain people. For other people, the flexibility just isn't there, and at times it becomes painfully obvious when you see some people taking A LOT of time off while you are discouraged from taking time. The official corporate policies are very forward looking and inclusive of diversity. However, after a while here, it is obvious the career path forward is much easier and much faster for some people than for others, especially after our smaller company was acquired by Cognizant. Moving forward and upward is possible to a point, and then there seems to be a roadblock. This is not based on gender, but other "diversity" factors. Lastly, in my many years of working for this company, I have never actually felt job security. There have been constant large and small-scale workforce reductions in the North America side of the equation. CONSTANT. "

"While I have felt at some points that some managers have been extremely supportive, it also feels like that can change with quickly due to whatever pressure they are getting from above. It also feels as if there is very little support from the mid-level managers and further up. There seems to be a disconnect between "cool new initiatives" and providing the tools necessary for the workers to actually employ those initiatives. Acquiring needed resources tends to feel like an odyssey. "
