"Cummins is a large company with almost endless opportunities. They are very focused on internal mobility and encourage movement both geographically and across functions/departments. I have not observed any difference in opportunity for men versus women; but like any employer I'm sure there are leaders with biases. Our D&I strategy and leadership behaviors, though, are tools that can be used to call out any concerns. I believe that if a concern is raised, it will be taken seriously and addressed."

"Flexibility varies greatly based on role and job responsibilities. With the 'new normal' of almost all professional employees working from home and trying to balance dependent care/education with work, this is an emerging area for Cummins. They are saying the right things but will be interested to see how it is put into practice."

"Diversity is a core value and you can sense it in everything that is done here. Discrimination of any sort can lead to job loss. You will work in very diverse teams of all ages, nationalities, sexes and everyone has an equal voice. There are policies to accommodate needs for new mothers, carers and facilities on site for pumping breast milk or prayer rooms. Most job opportunities are advertised and you can develop a range of skills and experiences over time. The world is your oyster. Supporting the local community is encouraged too. Training is encouraged. "

"Cummins gave me opportunities on anything I wanted to do career-wise. I wanted an international assignment and I got it (twice). I wanted more responsibility and I got it through thoughtful Regular feedback on gaps and resources to develop it. Also helped me built confident and provided sponsorship where needed. You will have to go after the opportunities by yourself (what I think is correct!) but the moment you make it visible you will get nothing but support. We did have a gap on the higher levels of the company for gender or some other ethnic groups that were not fully represented and from my perspective the company went the right way about changing it. I saw a lot of progress in the years I have worked here. Great company for women to work for!"

"Don't get too friendly or take people who are passive-aggressive personally. There are definitely more good people than bad, but overall people are here for themselves first. You will be expected to prove that you deserve to be here by someone at some point. "

"While Cummins doesn't have an official policy on work-life integration/flexibility, it's very much ingrained in the culture. My experience with my manager has been a phenomenal one, and I've received an enormous amount of flexibility when I need it. This has been critical for my development in many ways including (but not limited to) obtaining my degree, pursuing passions outside of work, and relocating across the country.
The degree of flexibility can vary between functions, roles, and managers, but my experience has been a fantastic one. "

"You will need thick skin. You will hear male opinions on your appearance nearly every single day, even after years. Your clothes, your body, whether you smiled for them... You will also work overtime five days a week. For at least half the year you will also work Saturdays. There is no such thing as sick time and you will still receive attendance points with a doctor's note."

"Expect to see many men hired off the street for positions women have applied for. Worked at my location for 2 and a half years with excellent reviews and customer compliments but have been passed up for 4 promotions. Every time a man was given the position over a woman. "

"Overall, Cummins treats people well. However, vacation time is quite limited (2 weeks) and talent management is almost non-existent. Career paths seemed to be paved by sheer luck and relationships. Coaching and development is lacking."

"If you do get promote (Big If) Women start listening and acting like the men. You would think they would get in there and make a change. I was personally told if I want to get promoted keep mouth shut and wait for them to promote me. Such a backwards concept of thinking. I feel I am working for a start up company where people are clueless. Cummins as a company is great benefits just need to review the people running things more closely. Women are so use to not getting promoted if they have a ounce of a chance they will not support you. NO team work, not togetherness to support or mentor each other."
