This is a place that put a man as the leadership liaison for the woman's ERG, if that tells you anything. If you're going to be successful here, make sure you have multiple male sponsors who will always have your back. "

"I joined Elastic in a Sales Development role based in London and have since been promoted to a commercial account executive role. I have been lucky with the Sales leadership in EMEA. I have also benefited greatly from slack channels like women-of-elastic as well as more specific communities for black women in the company.I also value the extremely flexible working hours in the company, with a program called Shut it down days implemented to provide every other Friday off for the whole company during COVID times. We also have generous COVID time off on top of this where you can take time off to care of children, manage school from home and other COVID related duties. "

"I've been at Elastic for about 3.5 years and the company has grown a lot during my time here. I love how consistently Elastic management has wanted to be inclusive and hire more women. Elastic has a generous maternity leave (16 weeks) and very competitive benefits (compared to my husband's). My team is very nurturing and I've been able to ask multitudes of questions and have collaborative video call sessions when I'm stuck on a pull request. I would encourage anyone interested in a position at Elastic to not write off the company on number of women in Engineering data alone. I can't imagine having as supportive a team and I count myself very lucky. "

"On the measure, Elastic gets it right. There's a focus on recruitment and the groundwork is being built to ensure even stronger recruitment for women and non-binary employees. When challenges do arise, Elastic addresses them head on and with a great deal of transparency. Getting more women and non-binary employees in leadership roles needs to be a focus but I can see the results of the efforts. The flexibility is amazing even though things are not exactly normal with a global pandemic. It truly feels family first and I know that if I need to deal with life stuff (sick kid, doctors appointments, etc) that I'll be supported in that."
