      "n the early years of the company, there was a lot of room for growth and promotion for self-motivated women who were looking to broaden or deepen their skills and were okay with minimal management and support. In more recent years, however, the company has grown in headcount and the job scopes have become more defined, but more so for male employees. Many mid-to-senior female employees continue to have less defined roles and are expected to carry a much larger workload than their male colleagues or managers. There are currently no women in the company's C-suite. There is only one non-white man in the C-suite. There are 3 or 4 female VPs, most of whom carry the bulk of the workload for their corresponding Chief officer. Half of the C-suite are personal friends of the founders and have no executive work experience, and male managers (especially the senior ones) are not held responsible for missed targets or goals. Meanwhile, at least 8 women have quit in the last year (most without another position lined up), despite the pandemic job market conditions, because the stress/workload/environment has become unbearable. The company had a lot of perks and there are a lot of smart, kind, funny and talented people who work there, but I would recommend asking your hiring manager a lot of questions about their expectations for the role and the support that would be available to you before taking a position at Genius."
