"I had reservations about joining a global tech company (many of which were based on stereotypes - too slow, too stuck in their ways, too rigid, too 'corporate') but I have to say that I was SO WRONG. from Day One I've felt this sense of belonging, that the work I do matters (because it does), and I've been encouraged to use my voice and be myself at all times. And! I had the options to work on a Mac or a PC... sounds silly but it definitely gave the impression that this company is "not your grandparent's IBM". "

"The pay and bonuses are low. In fact, recently the bonuses and raises are negligible or non existent. BUT, the flexibility and paid time off is unbeatable from what I've seen. If you need to take a sick day, a day to take care of a sick child, go to doctors appointments, it's no big deal at all. Maternity leave is 5 whole months, 100% paid. Women are treated equal. Occasionally you run into a person who clearly thinks women are incompetent, but that is very rare in my experience. Overall a great place for women to work. "

"Know your boundaries.
Negotiate hard for compensation on entry.
Be ready to leave if you do not meet or exceed your goals.
Connect with other women leaders, find a female mentor.
Understand that in culture you will need to embrace continual change and learning to maintain your marketability ... "
