"IBM had a female VP by 1943 and some of the most highly respected leaders in the organization are women. The conversation at IBM is centered around inclusion and there's an entire team that works on initiatives constantly discovering ways we can do more. I'm proud to be a woman at IBM. "

"The office culture is extremely supportive of IBMers appointments or arranging hours to pick up kids from school etc. I've never stressed over scheduling an appointment! I manage my own schedule depending on what works for me any given week. "

"Parents of a newborn or newly adopted child/children (including children born through a surrogate) can take 12 weeks paid time off for bonding within the first 12 months of the child's birth/adoption. This includes fathers, partners, and adoptive parents. Birth mothers get an additional 6-8 weeks of maternity leave, for a total of 18-20 weeks."

"IBM is a great company for women. It is common to see women in leadership positions and I do not feel inhibited in anyway by being a women -- I feel I have the same opportunities as my male counterparts. I am constantly surrounded by many strong, aspirational women and always feel uplifted in that sense. I also think it's important to mention that there is a lot of empathy and understanding at IBM with regards to what it means to be a woman, and a lot of inclusivity about gender fluidity in both policy and in action at IBM. Of course there are many areas that still need improvement, but I strongly feel like we are on the path to a company that enjoys and promotes diversity and inclusion in many different areas, but specifically in parenthood and gender. "IBM has made some really great strides in the U.S. with increasing maternity leave opportunities for both women and men. My team in particular is very flexible and understanding when it comes to family. Not sure if that applies to the company as a whole, but in my personal experience, I am very happy with the flexibility that I am afforded to accommodate personal situations and balance them with work."

"I didn't take maternity leave and am not yet a parent but I am excited that IBM US is making great strides in flexibility and generosity in parental leave policies. A long way to go compared to other countries, but we are getting there!"
