Without that here, you can work hard but remain unseen and subsequently miss out on promotions , pay increases and leadership opportunities"

"We can make a difference still. When I left JPMC, I was needing more flexibility with working from home since that's how I work the best and plus, my son was just born. The opportunities to have a great career at JPMC exists still... Workers at JPMC either then to fall under several camps, 1) look way above everyone's heads to their own goals and make no lasting changes, 2) look at eachother and work together to try and make a difference despite confusing directives (but these folks know how to run the ship), 3) look at eachother and scratch their heads at mgmt's decisions that have no lasting changes, 4) keep your head down, do the bare min and make no waves. The best thing about working here was the training and experience gained. Everything else is noise when it comes to the frequent re-orgs, management shuffle, and yes, some micro-managers."

"Since JPMC is such a large company there is certainly some level of comfort working there. There are areas of the company where things feel relatively safe and stable and women can have positive experiences. However, there are many areas as well where that's not true. It can be very luck of the draw in a way. I was fortunate enough to get to move out of a bad situation and then have the opportunity to try to make a difference. But at such a large company it's hard to impact the culture beyond your immediate area."

"It is a great place to grow and learn but be prepared for it to be an all consuming job. Accenture has high standards for work and high expectations for productivity. People are smart and collaborative but things can get political, particularly promotions."

"I would tell everyone, man or woman, the same thing. Run as far away as you can and don't look back, unless you are being hired as a 20 hour teller or you're being hired into a high-level position (Financial Advisor, Director, etc.). Part time employees put in little work, but still get benefits, which is rare for a lot of companies. High-level positions start off with decent pay, and great commissions. It's also a lot easier to move around in the company if you want to at that level."

"For those in technology, I would not recommend JPMChase as it is not the firm's bread and butter and often times technology organization is treated like second class citizens. It is a hard pill to swallow especially for those who are ambitious and looking to drive change at a larger corporation. The firm has an immense number of groups to join, internal courses and resources, but I would say they are heavily slanted to favor financial services and not technology practices. Pay is okay, but not great for technologists and in comparison to technology companies you will be paid under market value. All things combined are important things to consider when choosing your next role. JPMChase is a great firm and has cache, but it does have it downsides and many people find this out once they've accepted an offer and started within the firm and then they feel stuck. This happened to me and I would hate to hear that this would happen to another fellow FGB woman! "

"I will start by saying that people definitely have different experiences depending on the department and team they are on. Within HR, there is a lot of flexibility when it comes to hours, working from home and taking time off but some departments do not offer as much flexibility in terms of remote work (this of course will probably change with covid). You get a ton of time off (5 weeks a year and even more after 5 years) and people taking two week vacations is becoming more common. They have a great mat leave program (I think it's 13 weeks now) and have a parents concierge service to help you fill out leave paperwork and switch over benefits for the family. They also provide a free milk stork membership and pumping rooms in the corporate offices. Gender diversity was made a major priority in recruiting and I feel that there is equality in terms of treatment within the company. Things are very different right now with covid slamming the travel industry but they will bounce back eventually. "

"There are always opportunities available. The best part is, every manager is available to help you with your next career move. They are always willing to look for opportunities and help give you skills to succeed. "

"Working in IT is like a running treadmill. Most of the top positions are taken by white males or hires from Goldman Sachs. Unless you are a star and you get lucky to have encountered someone who appreciates your work, it is a long drawn and difficult process to be recognized let alone appreciated. This is specially true for women of color, Asian-Indian or other. Caucasian women have a lot more attention than most of the women in terms of diversity. At least there are some role models for them."

"Former employees have always said that you need to leave and come back in order to get a competitive salary and that is exactly what I had to do in order to get a promotion after 3 years with great performance evaluations. I would consider another bank first. Work life balance was moderate. They have a 2 week mandatory vacation policy in the investment bank but vacation day allocations were not competitive with other banks. There were plenty of women ERG groups that promoted a better work environment but these ideas were rarely implemented. Overall, management did not treat women any differently on a day to day basis. However, bonuses were slim to none especially in operations roles. "

"Women are pidgeonholed. They will often question a woman’s competency. Many fellow male workers will often not be helpful or answer questions. The too-competitive environment leaves team spirit wanting and real collaboration lacking. Those in control vie and overtly maintain their notoriety ensuring they get the best opportunities by elbowing out women and older employees - anyone their culture will question or have negative bias towards. Not everyone there is like this, but so many are, and managers just look the other way or are afraid themselves to speak up. "

"My time at JPMC could have been much better if management adhered to the corporate policies and initiatives. The company encouraged work/life balance - my manager was inflexible with any fluctuation in schedule except for Dr. appts. The company encouraged diversity - my manager had a reputation for firing and more harshly reviewing female analysts (regardless of performance.) I left the company when I couldn't take any more of the manager's harassment despite having reported her to Human Resources multiple times. Because of this manager I've had to choose between caring for my newborn and myself...of course I chose to take care of my child but am now dealing with the health issues I neglected."

"The company is on the surface making efforts to show their commitment to women in the workforce. There are good women's groups within the company that connect women of all levels and through which useful talks and events are available. However, it's still financial services, and a large majority of those in upper management positions are white men. It is hard to determine a path as a woman to the top, as there are not enough women up there."

"A lot depends on your manager with support around time off and the leave policy. You have to have a strong commitment to push through and be successful. There's no one to help you navigate it but you. The maternity leave is nice, 16 wks paid, but you're responsible for the whole year's results, so you take a hit there. There is some schedule flexibility, but most of my work is done in the office, so you may have some flexibility but if it takes 50 hrs to complete your week's tasks you can't help cutting into your parenting time. "

"Good telecommuting policy. Most managers are open to working from home as needed or setting a standard schedule to work a day or two from home every weeks. I am very pleased they just increased maternity leave to 18 weeks."

"There are a good number of women in technology but they are mostly in business analysis roles. There is the typical unconscious bias issues that come up day in and day out that one must manage. There are diversity efforts sponsored by senior managers and these efforts are action oriented programs including sponsorship, mentoring, and training."

"I joined JP Morgan Chase due to their excellent maternity benefits & being listed as one of the best places for working moms. They also have a great policy for telecommuting. The team I originally joined was very supportive of my family plans & being able to telecommute. However, after I joined, the leadership on my team changed. As did their policies & stance on telecommuting. While I was pregnant, they were very good to me & the maternity benefits were very accommodating. However, once it came time to return they were not realistic about the demands of being a parent & requested too much. I also watched other mothers not being given the same opportunities as their male counterparts due to their family obligations. There are very few women in leadership roles. Those that are tend not to have children."

"Women are looked over for promotion and they mostly go to men. They interview all even though the manager knows they will not really be considered for the job opportunity. If lower level employees have an idea, they get batted down most of the time."
