"If you need a job and benefits, and you can't find anything else, then sure, throw your hat in the ring. As a sales professional, upon introducing yourself to your clients, the first thing you will hear is that you are the 5th rep they have had in the past 18 months, or they will tell you that "fanatical support" was the reason that they paid more, but that they routinely wait for on hold for support for an hour these days and they haven't experienced "fanatical support" since prior to Apollo taking over so we unfortunately for you have made the decision to leave at the end of our contract. Because of these resounding issues, repeated over and over, the hope of expanding business with these customers is unsustainable. Rackspace is a place to land, get a paycheck, get some certifications, move on asap. "

"My manager was one of the biggest drawbacks. As a new person, the training was 250+ self paced modules. Very few people learn and retain this way, me included. Upon graduation, the message was make sure you network within the company so you can be successful. My sales team, minus one person were all new to the company. I was the last person in. One on ones were set for 30 minutes every other week. In the interim, if I needed something, I would ping one of my teammates first if they were available, or the trainer if she was available-if I ever IM'd my manager and asked for a quick 5 min when he showed avail, he turned it into an IM convo instead of a quick call. As a new person, I was trying to gain insight on what was customary at RS in certain scenarios-in these instances, a call would have been more efficient. Additionally, in other situations, one on ones for example, he would say one thing, then a couple of days later follow-up in email with a summary that was incorrect. What was interesting at RS is that this person that I reported to did not actually hire me. I was assigned to their team after I was hired. I view that as a flaw in their hiring practice, as who you work for is important, and we were not a good match. "
