"At HQ, in most situations there is gender equity, although there is still somewhat of a 'man club' among senior leaders. Some of this is driven by the legacy culture of the outdoor industry (e.g., bragging about weekend outings, who climbed the highest mountain, etc.), so can also be exclusionary to those who aren't into those types of activities.
For most roles, there is a lot of flexibility including remote work, generous PTO and support for life outside of work."

"There are some roles within REI that offer less flexibility. For example, in retail, stores are open for set hours and staff must be there (in person) during those hours. There is little to no remote working in retail settings. That said, there is certainly a great deal of flexibility where it is possible. "

"I worked there for a year and a half part time while I was in school. I had a really supportive boss, and was offered a full-time position if I wanted it, which would have been my entree into making a career in the company. I didn't, but I appreciated that they appreciated me."
