      "I have not used the maternity leave, but I've been told you get 6 weeks, and can use an additional week of 'personal time'. Even after the maternity leave period, the UTCflex program makes it easy to work from home a couple days a week to be with your newborn if you want/need."

      "A new policy was put into place called UTCflex, where you have multiple options that can be approved by your manager/HR. I have a member of my team who lives 3 hours away in Queens and works remotely every day. Another employee comes in at 10am and leaves at 6-7pm, and my boss even works from home 1-2 times a week to save on child care. UTCflex has definitely helped with work-life balance at UTC (UTAS specifically)."

      "Competitive pay, good benefits, flexible work hours, very diverse workforce, a lot of diversity in management positions, equality initiatives and corporate goals, and the Re-Empower program that helps professionals who have had to take a leave from their careers to re-enter the workforce"

      "Say "sorry" only when appropriate, not often. It is important to claim responsibility, but a more effective approach would be to follow it up with course of action to mitigate the situation. I see women default to say "sorry" before their male counterparts, and many times when no one is even at fault. I work in a male dominated environment and luckily most have been respectful. Nobody likes to be at fault and it doesn't help to preemptively accept blame. Providing solutions and executing actions is one of the many ways to progress."

      "Flextime is offered company wide. People within my department had no problem getting approved for 9/80 but I've heard some other programs do not allow it. I personally have not applied for it for fear of the stigma attached to being absent too often."
