"If you are confident and don't feel like you need a lot of help in your field, are ambitious, and have a lot of energy to work extra hours, then it's a great place. There is a lot of room for advancement, and a very clear and equitable path to get there. But it's not easy, especially if you have children or other caregiving demands on your time. "

"It's a fast-paced environment in all groups. There are utilization targets, client deadlines, sales targets to hit and 'extra' things you are secretly expected to do -- like social groups, outings, or initiatives. People will say, "I love it here, I can go to my kids' games and programs." But they often are just working off-hours or on weekends. I was super-supported by my first manager, but he eventually left saying that consulting was really too hard with a young child. "

"16 weeks with the second 8 weeks available for bonding time that you can separate into parts over a year. This is available for any parent, biological or adoptive. Not sure about unpaid leave, but I've been told it's possible. "

"Slalom has built a space where one can balance work and life responsibilities easily. People are understanding of family time and often encourage us to log-off when outside of working hours.
Have I worked more than 40hrs/week? Yes.
Have I felt obligated to do so? No.
Really great culture and people. Plus, the work is fun as well!"

"Lots of opportunity to form your own path. Good balance of professional/personal life. Find advocates and mentors and you've got a good growth path in front of you. Top leadership is very male-dominant though, resulting in blind spots and non-inclusive actions at times. It's a known issue and some work is being done to address it."

"Slalom is a great place to work for women. As a young woman at the beginning of my career one thing that drew me to Slalom was the ability for growth for women regardless of personal goals (i.e. marriage, starting a family, or career growth focus). The company offers generous maternity leave, and additional benefits for women wanting to start a family. Slalom also provides great work life balance when needing to balance a personal life and your career, which in consulting can be hard to come by. Overall I have had a great experience at Slalom and believe it is a great workplace for women. "
