"SCE is committed to having more women in leadership positions over the next 10 years. I do notice that there are typically more men on my teams but I do see that changing to have more equal representation."
"It is a tough place to work and have a family life. There aren't a lot of sick days given and if you have small children, this can be a problem. You are stuck at 3 weeks vacation from year 3 to 15 years. "
"SCE is more traditional and conservative than many CA companies, which is not uncommon for utilities that have been around for 140 years. Telecommuting exists, but is predominantly left to the managers' discretion. The company has made many, many leadership changes over the last five years and I think it's better for it, but it is important to know that the organization does have hierarchy. It is not flat by any means."
"SCE has come a long way and it's progressing towards the right direction. I am so glad to see this during my employment here. The current leadership truly cares and it's evident that they are investing in us. I am so proud to be a part of this company."
"Great pay, benefits and flexibility. Work is important to the community. "
"SCE is the best place I have ever worked outside of having my own company. There is strong "tone-at-the top" regarding gender parity although women are still not equal to men. There is a very strong, sincere safety culture both physically and supportive of psychological safety, however the strength varies by environment and culture; the company is striving to improve safety in every way. Turnover is low which reduces opportunities and there is no clear "career path" for promotion and few step on the ladder, however there are opportunities to implement ideas and channel your interests, get mentoring and support; you need to self-promote and network to achieve advancement."
"depending in which engineering group you might end up you will be treated like a second class citizen."
"It's an amazing place to work. Your strengths and work ethic is more seen through the eyes of a woman in leadership more so than a man. However, this should not be this way, the more women we get in leadership to balance that ratio, the easier it would be for women to be in leadership."
"SCE is a diverse company that allows women to speak up and be heard. You control your own destiny and there are opportunities to change departments and continuously grow and learn. Most management are supportive of employees desire to increase our knowledge and skills and will help to get you to the next position. At SCE you can change careers without changing companies. We have many departments and many skills are transferrable between departments. you can go from Customer Service to Human Resources to Law to Accounting to facilities management etc. There are so many ways to grow with SCE. "
"It's a great place to work and I have always worked with a group of woman that have supported me and our department. We all work really well together! "
"SCE is a great place to work for women. There's been a bigger focus on diversity & inclusion in the past few years and the company has been actively looking at promoting women to leadership positions and ensuring pay parity. At times it feels a little forced and not very organic, but I appreciate that the company is working on it and is always looking to do better. "

"The past few years have been an amazing experience working for Edison. With some patience, there is room for growth. I also see some strong women in leadership positions and admire leadership as a whole. There is always room for growth in this area, but Edison is on the right path. "

"SCE is a great place to start and grow your career. I've been with the company for over 25 years - from the time I was in college, got married, and raised kids. During these times, I've been blessed with bosses who have been supportive and have been able to move around different departments. The only caveat is that not all areas in the company are the same. "Overall, the company is pretty great. They are really striving to match the diversity of the employee pool to the diversity of the community. Great benefits and good pay combine with the ability to move around the service territory / different jobs, makes it a sweet deal. On the tough side, work life balance suffering when the company hits a perceived crisis and some business lines are male dominated."

"There is opportunity for advancement and the leadership (i.e. CEO) and company are making great strides to identify areas of opportunity to closet the gap of gender inequality. "

"Performance and development is very biased. A small sliver of women get ahead because they look nice, have soft voices, and sweet smiles, and work like bull dogs 24/7. Big emphasis on communication style during performance reviews. Women need to contort into just the right amount of confidence while being sufficiently demure or suffer penalties. "
"Talk to other employees about the hiring manager. Dig deep and make sure the practices align with what you are looking for in your employment."
"Exec Level supports diversity across the board. Culture gradually changing."

"So far, the benefits have been great, and the work and mission of SCE is inspiring and fulfilling. The challenge is in finding meaningful flexibility and promotional opportunities in the organization. "

"I'm new at SoCal Edison and what I can see and have experienced is that leadership is invested in empowering women to take leadership roles and responsibilities. As a nursing mother I also feel respected and encouraged to take time to pump milk for my baby. This is a great place and definitely my "forever employer.""
"In theory it is a good place to work, but the reality is not always what upper management preaches. "
"A lot of areas to dive into. Okay to learn different departments, etc."
"It is important to network and obtain a mentor if you want to succeed. "
"It is a good company to grow with and they are starting to promote more women"
"Company supports growth through education and job development assignments accross the various departments. "
"It's challenging to have a healthy work and life balance."
"Pay parity is a priority and our Execs are working to ensure men and women make the same pay for similar work. "
"Ensure you track work done and commmunicate things that are completed out of scope for year end evauations. "

"The benefits for women who are planning to start a family out-weigh compensation for me; the Total Rewards Team have provided competitive benefits and are continuously improving on their Benefits and Wellness Programs. There are patriarchy ways when you work from a service center versus Corporate Offices, however the culture is changing and the CEO/President is very transparent with equal pay and women's rights. There are Employee Resource Groups available that foster strong female leaders and opportunities within the work place are improving. There are more male leaders, however within the last five years we've seen women at the Suite C level."
"Depending on the organization/department, women are mostly treated equal to men. You might come across field personnel who will initially treat you as someone less-than, but once you speak to them and work with them, it usually changes instantly into equal coworkers."
"SCE supports diversity and inclusion and has many initiatives set in place to support that such as employee resource groups, etc."
"That there are many opportunities for women to work in a myriad of roles and capacities. "
"Know what you are getting into. This company is regulated. If you are coming from the Corporate world you will be very surprised."
"SCE is a good company but is largely male dominated. Work life balance and flexibility differs by Manager and is not standard across the company. "
"Its an interesting place to work and has good benefits. "
"Work life balance (integration) is considered by most managers and appreciated"
"SCE offers a great opportunity to learn and grow professionally. Additionally, pay is very generous. "
"There are great benefits and the pay is better than most in our industry. It is not what you know at SCE, but who you know in order to move up. "

"It is a great place to work. If you are willing to work hard, you will get as much opportunity as any man in the same role. "
"SCE does a lot to help women advance as well as provide opportunities to share and network with other women across the company"
