This is an interesting company with a lot of opportunities and great leadership. There is flexibility with respect to work/life balance and the ability to define your role and make it into what you want. The lack of many women in leadership roles shouldn't deter any one from working here - the opportunity is here.

I enjoy the challenging work environment at Terex. The business is constantly evolving making it a very dynamic environment. This kind of demand can be exhausting at times and is not likely for everyone. As for being a women in a male dominated industry, I have always been treated with respect and as an equal. They have worked with me through having 2 children, allowing me to work part time and come back to work at my own pace. I feel very fortunate to work for an employer that values me enough to allow me to work a flexible schedule.

Terex has been very flexible with my work schedule since having kids. I am not sure this exists for all employees equally. For example, women working on the shop floor are not able to work part time due to the nature of the work. I work in the office and therefor have more flexibility.

Maybe. Heavy equipment manufacturing is not for everyone. While our environment is always improving, you have to be okay with working in a noisy and dirty environment. I don't think this is caution specific to women!

Terex has always allowed me to pursue what I was interested in, If I felt that I could make an impact and was persuasive they encouraged me to make the best of it. I really appreciate that in Terex, they believed in me just as much as I believed in me.

Terex is great because there is a lot of opportunity for growth. Terex can be tough because it is a company made up of mostly men. Being a woman at Terex you must have alot of courage and be consistant as women seem to often be ignored.

Working in materials there is very little flexibility. 4 10-hour work days is what you sign on for but are met with working longer than 10 hours everyday and you will end up working 5 days instead of 4. Sometimes even 6 days a week. This makes balancing family life and going to appointments nearly impossible. Time off is not easily awarded. Team members are made to feel guilty or publicly shamed when asking for time off or not working enough overtime during the week.

There is now a much better policy for women and men who take maternity/paternity leave.

Terex has a very practical, down to earth culture. Improvement is one of the company's values and I would say this is embedded in the culture. If you have a good idea and can support how it will benefit the business, it will be championed. I like working for a global business -- but it has a small company feel at the same time. Leadership is very accessible at all levels in my experience.

Maybe it depends what you expect when you ask for flexibility and/or maybe it depends on which department you work but as long as my manager is as flexible for me and I am for him, I am happy

I would tell another woman to push the limits of her engagement. Everyone has an opinion and I feel that more opinions from women would benefit the company as a whole. Far two many of us/women do not push our engagement when the opportunity to do so arises.

This is a great place for women to work. Frankly, you have much more latitude than your male counterparts to advance and to speak up and be heard.

Flexibility is site, segment, role and position dependent. While this is to be expected for workers on the line, it should be consistent for office workers regardless of what site or segment or department you work in.
