This is a great place to work. The culture is one of people wanting to be here, not just here because they have to work.

It depends on what part of the company you work for. Office positions have a lot more flexibility than the plant side.

Some managers need to take sensitivity training - learn how to talk to their employees so not to belittle them or make them feel subpar.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. In the past I've been very pleased working for Terex.

This large company is progressing and on a path of strategic change. There are many widespread initiatives for personal development, diversity and improvement, although there appears to be more focus and drive in the North Amercial region than any other country.

I have personal experience where my organisation allowed me flexible working hours to support a hospitalised family member. If this had not been the case, I would have been in a very difficult situation.

People are often surprised I work for Terex just because of the industry we work in, but they're always pleasantly surprised when I tell them about all the great policies Terex has in place to promote a gender neutral environment and benefit women greatly.

We are able to flex our place we work, hours we work, and days we work in a way that still lets the business be successful but gives us the ability to be there for our families and community. I don't currently have children, but I really enjoy being able to flex my hours and help out at a local charity.

I think this is a good stepping stone for women who want to pursue a degree because Terex will absolutely send you to a university and pay for it, which is what attracted me to this job. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anywhere to move up once you achieve your degree, which will lead me to pursue employment elsewhere.

Maybe. I believe it depends on the role. For example, women should be strongly encouraged to pursue a career here in something like customer service. Women are not encouraged to pursue sales positions in this industry.
