"I worked at Tiffany's NY corporate office in 2016, so things may be different now. At that time, anyone below the manager level had to check in and out of the office via key card that tracked our hours. At first I disliked this policy, but I grew to really appreciate it. It meant that there was a culture of "clocking out" at the end of the day. Once I clocked out, I was not expected to be on email or reachable in the evening. If I needed to stay late - even if it was just 20 minutes - that 20 minutes would be counted as paid overtime. It really helped me maintain a work-life balance, and I was compensated for any extra time I put in. "

"Note that upper management is mostly male, workers mostly female. Promotions and presentation opportunities go to men, which drive salaries and bonuses. Everyone is expected to bring laptops home or log on and be available at night and over the weekend."
