"I would recommend other women to consider working at TikTok. The environment promotes a culture of belonging, and I see many women in leadership roles. The ERGs play an active role in building community for women and those that have intersectional identities. I also believe that the company embraces working parents and those expecting, and there are a variety of resources to support women on their journeys."

"I became a first-time mom while working here. I was able to take advantage of the 6 weeks of mat leave (up to 8*) and 12 weeks of baby bonding leave back-to-back to extend my time with my son. In addition, I was allowed to use my PTO to extend it a bit further, which was much appreciated.
Luckily, I had a team that was very supportive of my new journey as a mother while going out and securing coverage for me, so I could leave stress free.
However, I do think there can be more improvement on the return to work for new parents. Those first couple years with your child are the most special - and anxiety-ridden. Unless you have family nearby that can help, it can be a constant rollercoaster finding care and hoping they can stay long-term.
My family decided to move to a better neighborhood for my new addition, a bit further out with a longer commute. With new RTO updates and days increasing, it's just more weight to carry in the complexity of motherhood - I'm missing more time with my son, it's longer days, and both physically and mentally exhausting. Although I've shared these concerns with my manager, it seems very matter-of-fact and there's no flexibility.
So to that, overall it's been a good experience. I really enjoy working at TikTok and their benefits are honestly amazing. It's unfortunate you have may have to make difficult choices in your career after becoming a mother, but I suppose that's how it goes (for now). "

"This company is just getting started to there are lots of opportunities to build. That does sometimes mean longer hours as it takes hard work to build something from nothing but the impact you will have is tremendous. To see your work stretch across an organization is phenomenal experience to have on a resume and can really help you stand out in the future."
