Climbing the Corporate Ladder in a Virtual World

Krystin learned networking at a young age when her dad would tie a balloon around her wrist to keep track of her while she went around making friends at events. She’s always found joy in talking to people and developed a passion for people. She graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and found a love for recruiting within her sorority, Sigma Kappa. She started her formal recruitment career in the digital design industry, jumped over to the consulting space, and joined Peapod Digital Labs (PDL) in March of 2020. Krystin is currently the Talent Acquisition Manager at PDL leading a team that recruits across Data, Digital & Tech along with Corporate and Commercial roles. During her time at PDL she has expanded the talent acquisition department by 50%, rolled out a full-scale Co-Op program, and has built diverse pipelines of talent. She fosters PDL’s culture by recruiting those who are passionate about growing and thriving in a fast-paced environment. Krystin is also the President of Mind Over Matter, PDL’s mental health inclusion network, and was named a Top Woman in Grocery for 2022 by Progressive Grocer.

Sarah graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and immediately began a career in corporate retail, starting with apparel companies TJX and J.Jill. She then started with Peapod Digital Labs in mid - 2020 as an assortment analyst, supporting the E-commerce grocery shopping experience. She is now the Manager of Assortment Tools and Analytics within the Assortment Services team, focusing on digital transformation and optimization efforts, in addition to managing the Fair Share program. During her time at PDL, Sarah has focused on process improvement initiatives to make sure we deliver the right product, to the right customer, at the right time. Throughout her entire work experience, the common thread connecting all of Sarah’s roles is a customer-focused approach. Outside of the workplace, Sarah enjoys spending time with friends and family, attempting to visit all 50 states, and cheering on her favorite British bakers from her living room couch

Cori began learning lifelong leadership skills as the captain of her ice skating and dance teams at a young age. She continued building on these skills through extracurricular activities while attending the University of Illinios. After graduation, Cori started her corporate career at Rise Interactive, a Chicago based digital marketing agency and quickly grew her career to be a people leader. It was at Rise where Cori began learning formal leadership tactics but realized all of the leadership roles she had before were building blocks to a corporate leadership position. Cori is currently an ecommerce marketing manager at PDL, leading a team that focuses on partnership marketing and affiliate marketing. Throughout her 3.5 years at PDL, she has grown from managing 1 affiliate Brand, to owning the entire affiliate channel and navigating building out a new channel for partnership marketing. Cori is a leader on the PDL Wellness team and a member of the PDL DIEB Helping Hands committee. Cori is an avid runner and traveler and just got back from a trip to New Zealand and Australia.

Karin Chu is vice-president and head of data science and digital analytics at Peapod Digital Labs (PDL). She is a statistician with a diverse background in creating and managing data-focused enterprise initiatives for businesses from early-stage startups to Fortune 100 firms. Ms Chu believes that data science must be scalable, repeatable and measurable. At PDL her team leads the hyper-personalization portfolio for customer journeys, with projects ranging from cookie-less tracking to machine-learning and AI recommendations, and from advanced experimentation to value-tracking of the company’s personalization algorithms. Before joining PDL Ms. Chu built and scaled up data-science teams at CVS Health, Nordstrom Trunk Club and Northern Trust.
