Advice from a Recruiter: Everything You Need to Know and Do Before You Hit "Apply"

Jennifer Mittelsteadt is the Senior Manager, Lateral Recruiting for White & Case, an elite global law firm serving leading companies, financial institutions and governments worldwide, with 44 offices in 30 countries. She oversees recruitment for all nine of the firm’s U.S. offices, with the goal of identifying legal and business services professionals who are high achievers and who want to be part of a dynamic, growing global business. Jennifer began her career as a practicing attorney and has lived and traveled throughout Europe, Africa and Asia. She has held a number of different roles in the legal industry, including practicing corporate law, managing litigation projects, and spending two years as an agency recruiter. This has culminated in a career doing what she loves – helping people move into exciting roles and develop their careers. She is a member of White & Case’s Career Coaching office, where she advises individuals on all aspects of career development and transitions, management skills, effective feedback, performance reviews, and managing difficult conversations. She has been trained in coaching skills through the Global Institute of Organizational Coaching. Outside of work, Jennifer loves reading, traveling, and hanging out with her husband and 6-year old daughter and their rambunctious lab, Dakota.
