Senior Director, Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, UnitedHealth Group

Senior leader partnering across UnitedHealth Group (UHG) to drive restless & relentless growth by developing strategies to attract, retain, and support diverse programs and talent. Tonya has 20+ years of experience in human capital across health care sectors including medical device, biotech, health insurance and health administration. She has held leadership positions at UHG, Allina Health, SAIC, and Medtronic overseeing: Talent acquisition, Workforce capacity planning, Clinical student experiences, Early careers, DE&I Employment branding, Diversity communications, Strategic diversity initiatives. At Allina Health, she served as the chair of Allina’s Women’s ERG Leadership Committee, was a member of the CEO DE&I Roundtable and is a board member for the Anoka County Workforce Development Board. In addition, throughout her career she continues to engage in developing career exploration programs designed to recruit diverse talent and advance behaviors that embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels and abilities. Tonya has a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management and is currently pursuing a MBA in Health Care.
