Seriously considering leaving the mortgage industry.
I accidentally started my banking career in 2001 (temp position that became a permanent job). I started in the mail room, but then started working on HELOCs, then mortgages. For the last 10 years or so I've been in mortgage compliance. The industry is so tough right now. I still have a job, which is more than many in the industry can say, but between layoffs and pay cuts I'm overworked and underpaid.
The problem is, I have a hard time figuring out what else I could possibly do, and more importantly how to make it clear on my resume, that my skills are transferrable. I'd really appreciate any ideas.
