Surveys show that women in the US are less comfortable negotiating than men. They report being more anxious and expect more backlash for asking for what they want. Despite their fears, however, research has suggested that women are equally as satisfied with their negotiation outcomes as men and perhaps even slightly more satisfied with their relationship outcomes. While women may put themselves through more stress leading up to a negotiation, they are better (than men) at being able to balance the conversation with maintaining the relationship!
