Member roll call!

Hi everyone, I wanted to check in and give everyone a little love. Members new and old, please introduce yourselves! Tell us a little bit about your style: 1) what's your favorite fabric? 2) how has your style evolved over the years? 3) how would you describe your #quarantinecouture (what have you been wearing while staying home)? Bonus: Add a pic of your favorite outfit, or even a garment you own that really speaks to you!

Personally, I didn't do all that much quarantining. I went out every day and vowed to dress reasonably well, comb hair and put on makeup. I said I wasn't going to look slovenly. Being in New York there are always people on the street, so it helped me.

1. Raw silk; the texture, the look, the nubs! It's not used often these days, but whenever I see a vintage garment in the material, it's mine. 2. Big question. From being the only kindergartener who wanted to wear only black to being full blown goth in adolescence, I've embraced classic style after coming down from heavy prepdom. So much less effort involved. 3. The slim, graphic sweaters and sweatshirts I've picked up over the years are finally having their moment. Levis at least make me feel less like I'm going back to bed, but I can't deny wearing my cashmere sweatpants at least twice a week.

Thank you for sharing, Zoe! I love that you mentioned Raw silk- you are so right, it's not used frequently these days but it's such a great fabric. Enjoy your cashmere sweatpants- I've been meaning to get myself a pair but I will probably wait to purchase for next fall.

Mine were a lucky find from a thrift store, believe it or not. Everlane makes an affordable pair!

ohhh, yes corduroy is another favorite of mine- definitely great in the winter. I love it from the wide-wale to the thinner, almost "velvet-touch" type. I'm going to have to check out the Wearever collection- sounds amazing! I had forgotten but on the FGB platform, pics can't be uploaded in responses- they have to be uploaded as separate posts. Sorry about that! Stay safe and keep us posted, Jen!

I like various fabrics (and many blends), as long as they move and flow. I need to be comfortable, so I do not like anything restrictive. I have more creativity as I have aged (that's a good thing), meaning I will wear more original pieces to an interview, instead of a suit. Since staying home, I am not dressing up, mostly wearing jeans.

1) One of my favorite fabrics is velvet, though I don't wear it that much. I also like a fabric with texture, so I enjoy brocade and embroidery. 2) My style has become less formal, yet still put together. I like an eclectic mix of classic and unique pieces, cozy yet structured. 3) comfortable without being sloppy! No over-sized tops, ratty sweats, or holes for me!

I have dressed less formal also, I am not sure if it is because of where I live (less formal in Colorado), or as I have aged, I have found other ways to dress, but still present professionally.
