Styles you notice when you travel

Hi all! I'm back from a fantastic 2-week vacation in Germany and Switzerland! I noticed some styles and ways of accessorizing while abroad that I don't see at home, so it spurred a question: What are some styles, trends, etc that you've noticed the locals wearing that is not typical at home? Can't wait to read your answers!

Kind of a small thing but when I went to San Francisco last month I noticed everyone there wears jeans and sweatshirts all the time! I live in NYC and I feel like people are constantly more dressed up here

Thank you for sharing! Love the observation. I definitely have more of a "dress up" style too.

I’ll start! When I was in Munich and Lucerne I noticed women wearing stockings and or socks that you could see peeping out from their cropped pants. Sometimes they were worn high and sleek, and others chose to keep the sock a little slouchy. Definitely don’t see this at home! Also noticed way more black stockings and even nude hose! Another interesting thing I noticed was the popularity of sandalwood in Munich. I lost count of how many people I passed smelling like it, or who pretty much introduced their arrival with it, from 20+ steps away. It’s not overpowering, just evident, even from far away. Just found that interesting!
