GameChanger was founded on the firm belief in the life-changing impact of youth sports. We build simple and powerful products for youth teams and their communities. Our app provides world class access to live game action, the statistics to inform teachings and help fuel growth, and solutions that rally community around a team.

In November 2016, GameChanger proudly joined the DICK’S Sporting Goods family. Together, we aim to empower and connect youth sports communities through world-class products and solutions.

      Software Engineer

      New York, NY

I learned about GameChanger at a career fair at Columbia, and interned here for a summer while I was in college. I loved my internship and learned a ton that summer, so I decided to join the team full-time and have recently celebrated my two year anniversary with GameChanger.

GameChanger has a  very strong learning culture where everyone is invested in improving themselves and their technical abilities. We have so many forums and clubs that enable doing that together outside of work as well. I currently participate in a monthly business book club and an iOS discussion group that meets about monthly to watch and discuss an episode of Chris Eidhof’s Swift Talk. During my internship, I noticed the many opportunities engineers had to interact with and understand our users, including going to conventions where you can interact with coaches. The engineers at GameChanger also solve a lot of interesting technical challenges. It was really important to me to work at a company where I not only worked on cool technical challenges, but also understood the users I was developing for and felt like I was actually helping them in some way. After a three-month internship with GameChanger, I knew I could get both here.

GameChanger has given me incredible opportunities to learn and grow; which was also very important to me as I kickstarted my career. One of my proudest moments (so far) was publishing a technical article on GameChanger’s blog about iOS layouts and doing a corresponding talk about it with the meet-up Women in iOS. I think information sharing is so important in our field, and have done a lot of work in teaching and tutorial writing in some of my summer jobs during college. It was great to be able to apply the skills I learned in these jobs to my career and my job at GC, and I hope to continue engaging in these opportunities as I grow my career with the company.

GameChanger makes a conscious effort to study and reverse biases women and minorities often face in tech, and has plenty of forums to discuss and plan ways to correct these issues. We have a monthly ladies lunch where the women at the company get together to just get to know each other and bring up any issues or topics to discuss. People regularly and openly share articles they think will enhance the culture at the company, and we often have fruitful discussions about them. I think this fosters a very open culture where I feel comfortable sharing my experiences or my thoughts about these kinds of things. I feel very comfortable talking to my manager and teammates about issues I see and coming up with productive solutions as well.

When I'm not working or attending workshops, I love taking advantage of all the opportunities to go to dance classes and watch dance in NYC. Outside of work I like working out, listening to good music, and reading. I love watching sitcoms and one of my guilty pleasures is repeatedly rewatching some of my favorite shows!
