Women who work in general education departments have an overall job satisfaction level of 4, 100% of them believe there is gender equality
in their firms, and make an average salary range of $25k-$50k.
There are a good number of female faculty (probably close to even), also at the Dean level. Not sure if this is true for non-teaching staff (admission, financial aid, or corporate).

I think it just the Family Medical Leave Act (unpaid leave)
Maybe. You have to be available during the hours in which you are assigned to teach (but other hours besides meeting times are very flexible). Most employees are considered full time at 30 hours a week which is great for flexibility. Schedule tends to change month to month if you are responsible for different classes (Mornings 9-1 or Nights 6:30-10:30). Health benefits are really expensive and the options are basic for the first three years then fully paid. The 401k does not start until 1 year of work.
