Ensure that you are mentally healthy and strong enough to constantly be coached to certain behaviors and be willing and able to handle a constant high stress environment. Make sure you have a healthy outlet for your stress.

Once you're promoted to supervisor or higher, your options for flexibility are a bit more limited as well as the fact that you're normally "coached" or given a speech about your need to be at work all the time to set an example for front line employees. So even if you're granted flexibility for a situation, it's still looked at negatively which is another source of stress
  • Took Maternity Leave Here? (Weeks)

    6 paid / unpaid

You are given 6-8 weeks paid maternity leave in addition to another 8 weeks of paid "parental leave" which used to be referred to as baby bonding time. This is definitely one of the best benefits of the job.

  • One Thing Employer Could Improve

I'm unable to select only one thing that would make me stay. They need to improve compensation for management, improve work-life balance, and reduce the amount of stress supervisors endure due to unrealistic expectations they're held to.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. It would depend on what type of job the woman is looking for and how much stress she would be willing to endure from her employment.

Be prepared to be told you’re one of the bigger women so you can go push carts. Or you can’t work in produce because it’s a man's job.

Treat your associates with respect. Don’t drain them to the point where they’re running to the bathroom crying. You wonder why no employees stay longer than a month.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. The job itself was great. Management wasn’t. Im sure it may not be that way at every store.

On paper looks great. In reality, still a lot to do, less long unuseful meetings and less hours all organization reading and answering emails.... Because women have more responsibilities socially it is difficult to follow the same amount of hours or in the office as men

Threat woman as leaders and not as monkeys following orders. They have promoted quite some women but not in Sales, not in Finance. The ones that are now in the board of directors are in week positions.
