There is very little respect for contract hours with this school district. Teachers are regularly asked to eat their lunch with students. Buses are late several times a week, and teachers are asked to remain after contract hours until buses arrive. There is an inadequate amount of planning time, so teams must meet weekly outside of contract hours. IEP meetings are scheduled during teachers' lunch breaks so they don't have to provide coverage. Sub jobs are often not picked up, so classes must be split among the other teachers on the team when someone is out.

They only want full-time teachers. Unfortunately there are many of us that want a better work, family balance and that means we want to team teach and work part-time. It is very frustrating and sad that this district does not support part-time work. They could hire more teachers and have many more qualified teachers and keep them much longer if they fostered long-term job shares.

Maybe. Waiting to see how the new School Superintendent manages the district. It has been very chaotic recently.
