Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center wants to help change the way the world treats cancer -- and part of that process involves making sure their employees are happy. MSK, which is based in New York and known for its cutting-edge research, exceptional patient care, and superb educational programs, has also been recognized by Becker’s Healthcare as one of the 150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare in 2016, as well as by Glassdoor’s annual Employees’ Choice Awards 2016...and they’re hiring!
It’s no surprise that Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) is ranked as a great place to work. Their business strategy for recruiting, retaining, and advancing the best talent available prioritizes diversity. MSK also offers a variety of Employee Resource Networks (ERNs) -- voluntary, employee-formed task forces organized around a dimension of diversity, such as age, race, gender, sexual orientation, or physical ability. Its Women on the Move (MWM) group, for instance, focuses on the professional and personal development of MSK’s female employees and aims to create an inclusive environment by connecting women at all levels of the organization.
One employee shared on Fairygodboss that the culture at MSK is “Highly motivating for women” and that there are  “many women in leadership roles looking to positively mentor other women.”
You don’t need to have a medical background to help MSK cure cancer. Their well-rounded staff is spread among various departments, and they are hiring in several areas, including strategy, business development, IT, and administration.
According to an employee who works in IT, working at MSK is “like joining a new family. Everything we do here is with the patient in mind. Management treats employees they way they themselves would like to be treated. Many leadership positions in both the clinical and financial/IT world are held by women. Women's views are respected and our voices are heard at all levels.”
