"It's had a lot of bad press recently for its gender pay gap - and more than 200 women have raised equal pay claims. But it's probably better for gender equality, and has more supportive maternity policies, than a lot of media organisations. If you work in news however you'll find most people work unsociable hours - you can have decent work life balance if you plan in advance. "

"You have to demonstrate male like characteristics to be promoted. However they do allow flexibility (formal and informal). "

"It depends on the team you are in but in general journalism (especially broadcasting) is not a good career for maintaining a good work life balance "
