"A great company in many ways but still very much a club where the women who are promoted act like men and the male partners have mostly have stay-at-home spouses."

"*** This review is for the Consulting side of Deloitte, for a client-facing role. Deloitte is a very big organization and they have other positions and member firms like Audit, Tax, etc. which are different
* The Good: Amazing parental leave policy, possibly the best in the job market. Money can be good at the undergrad or MBA level. If you just got an MBA and got recruited at Deloitte, you will earn $145+ plus sign-on bonus as a SC, if you are just out of undergrad you get about $70+ as a BA
* The Bad: If you are on the client-facing side of the business of Consulting, you have to travel 100%. There is no way around it. Hours can be really bad, at a minimum you are supposed to work 45 *billable* hours. Which means that realistically you end up working a minimum of 60 hours to bill 45, and that's on a good week. Working on weekends and holidays is very often the case.
* The Ugly: If you are pregnant and traveling, you get NO break for traveling. I cannot tell you how many of my friends have LOST their babies or delivered excessively early because of the excessive travel. I asked not to travel during the later stages of my pregnancy and my hand got slapped and I didn't get a good bonus or a promotion.
In addition, Deloitte is very tribal. It's all about your network. Partners and senior managers always work with the same people and very rarely get new people to work with them. If you are a new comer, you better start networking like crazy. And even if you network, it's really hard to get traction because they don't know you, therefore you don't get staffed in the cool projects. They have resource managers that "match" consultants on the bench with open projects but most of those projects are the ones that nobody wanted or with terrible senior managers with whom nobody wanted to work.
* The Very Ugly: Deloitte is a place where you have to toe the line carefully or you are out. There is no space for diversity of thought. Either you comply and do what they ask you to do the way they want it, or you don't advance in the firm.
Men still rule Deloitte, even if we have a woman CEO. There are very few women at the Partner level and most of them don't have kids or their kids are step kids and a lot of them have stay at home husbands. The women partners with kids earn less money most of the time.
Most if not all partners are very greedy. They only care about their compensation regardless of how many people get burned out, or damaged on their way to excellent project delivery. On the flip side, if you want money and don't care about your family and being nasty to your subordinates, this is the place for you!"

"It depends on your leadership in that department on how successful you will be. Sourcing and recruiting is a different area than the technical positions with the company. There are some positions with little travel and some that are 100% travel. The more you travel the higher the pay."

"Incredibly disorganized and chaotic. Incredibly stressful workplace. Terrible leadership. Deloitte overall is a wonderful company but the Bersin area is in freefall. "
