"I cannot emphasize enough how imperative it is to stay away from this company at all costs. They have no moral code and make reckless business decisions.
When I worked for them, I was accepted into an education program. Although their mission is supposedly to empower working adults to get an education, they gave me a bait and switch but ultimately refused to accommodate my schedule. Senior management indicated that I would be able to work an alternative schedule, but when I asked for confirmation in writing the plan was rescinded with no room for negotiation. They remained inflexible despite me providing multiple alternative work plans that would still entail me working 40 hrs a week and completing the same volume of tasks as the rest of the team, within their operating hours.
Additionally, in this era of the “great resignation/labor shortage”, I was appalled that they would rather lose the money recruiting, interviewing, onboarding and training a new employee as opposed to saving their money for retention efforts.
Furthermore, if you are a person of color this cautionary tale goes double for you. They posses a white savior complex and love talking about brown frontline workers whose life was changed by Guild. It’s disgusting and they are a capitalistic leech that likes to profit off of but never fully support marginalized identities masquerading as an education technology company.
Finally, if you work for Guild, do NOT respond. My issue was made known while there and nothing was done so I don’t want to hear your empty words now. "
