"I had an executive leader tell me one time that work-life balance is for those below senior levels in the company and you know once you reach senior leadership that it doesn't exist. The company doesn't prioritize this and it will be problematic for younger talent who don't want to "pay their dues" with hours."

"There are some leaders who cultivate the inclusive culture that I believe the core of the company believes in, including our CEO. In my years with the company, I've had some of the most amazing leaders who truly help to achieve equity. However, there are old school white male leaders who believe the hours worked is directly related to performance. Although I am not a working mother, comments have been made about working mothers not working hard enough or that I should take on more work and work more hours because I don't have children. It depends on the team and your direct manager on how aligned your work life will be to the company's mission of an inclusive environment. "

"As a company, Marriott is diverse, especially when it comes to women in leadership positions, and places a large emphasis on caring for its associates. However, like any other company, the leadership of the team you're on matters when it comes to your personal career experience and growth. My organization was quite siloed, and I personally didn't feel that there were a lot of opportunities to advance my career in the way I wanted to grow."

"Men will make more money even with less experience. Being good at your job is not as important as making friends. As a female it was not ok to call out a man in a higher position for not doing his job. "

"Make sure that you ask your manager what the flexibility policy is while interviewing. If possible, negotiate a work from home day (AWA) after your probation period ends. The process takes forever. "

"My property is overwhelmingly managed by women. Extremely inclusive & diverse for example: associates speak different languages & marriott hires translators. We also have full time associates who are deaf & have other disabilities. "

"Varies widely depending on specific location. Some properties/management staff are wonderful, some are horrendous. I have experienced both. Overall, I have witnessed a great deal of support for women, and a large female presence in upper management."
