The flexibility of the employer does not mean flexibility company wide. It really depends on the group.

  • One Thing Employer Could Improve

Improve work-life balance and policies (e.g. flex-time, limit face time)

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Some groups treat women fairly and are open to being flexible in different situations that only women experience such as motherhood. Other groups are not so great about treating women fairly and giving equal opportunities to progress in their careers.

If you have young children or are starting a family the work life balance can be very difficult at this company. If you are ok with all the company politics and not worried about fair play based on ones ability and really just want to come in and do your job then leave it should be fine.

They are fairly flexible in regards to the hours you work. Put in your 9 hours a day but start and stop time is fairly flexible (depending on which department you are in). However, they are not very understanding about stuff that comes up (as it often does with kids), and the expectation is that you should work more then just 9 hours a day. They would never say anything to you but they are judging and you will pay for it with your end of the year review and promotion and bonus.

  • Took Maternity Leave Here? (Weeks)

    12 paid / 12 unpaid

In order to take an additional 12 weeks unpaid you must use all your sick time and vacation first.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. Overall the company is a good company and does try to keep their employees happy. Depending on which department/field you are in depends on how you are treated. There are lots more under the table politics involved at this company then what one would initially notice.

Young male managers with stay at home wives, do not value women that have a strong opinion.

Having a flexible work schedule is manager dependent and not a company wide policy.

They want to support and promote women but they do not know what that means. Most of the men have stay at home wives. There is a lot of nepotism. They mean well but don't see their biases.

Maybe. If they are a woman and they are an engineer or a geologist yes. If they are not one of those types of professions and they are not a man there is little opportunity.
