Women are well respected. They have an unlimited vacation policy and flex Fridays during the summer so that employees have more time with their families.

Get a mentor in a much higher position that will advocate for you. This company is more about who likes you than how you do your job.

It depends on the department you're in and sometimes down to your individual team. Some teams (like mine) are super flexible and others are not.

  • Recommend to Women?

Maybe. They are trying to do better but there are areas where they are lacking. There are more women in management positions and they are trying to hire more diverse employees. We still have a long way to but overall the company is trying. It still depends on which department you work in. Some are more progressive than others.

They have Women In Tech meetings (men also attend) and a high number of women in IT and upper management positions. There are work from home options. On-site job training classes are great resources. This company loves to grow and keep their own talent. Culver City Metro is very close by. There's a unique ecosystem where you can grab coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, groceries, go to the bank, go birthday gift shopping, watch a movie, and shop at a farmer's market all within walking distance. It adds to work-life balance because you have a great place to connect, run a quick errand after work, drop by the bank on lunch break, and go home with a lot of your errands already in check so you can really just relax at home. It makes a world of difference; you have better paced energy for both your work and personal life.

There aren't a ton of women and most of the senior management are men. That said there is a lot of room for growth and advancement if you can understand and maneuver through the politics.

Any woman in cyber security field knows that you're probably going to be one of few or maybe just the only girl on the team. Same here at Sony. No big deal. it's not sexism, just the demographics of the job. But the people here do great in making me feel comfortable. Other than when i first walked in the room on day one, I rarely notice I'm the only girl in a team of 25.
