Overcoming Obstacles as a Woman in STEM with Johnson & Johnson

Leila Schwery-bou-diab is Vice President, Value Chain Management for Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) in Johnson & Johnson where she leads a team responsible for delivering the new product portfolio, optimizing supply chain performance throughout the product life cycle and driving best-in-class End-to-End product management. In addition to that, Leila also has a team supporting Business Development & Licensing group from a supply chain perspective. Previously Leila was Vice President, Partnerships and External Supply (PES) at Johnson & Johnson Janssen Supply Chain where she was responsible for the management of the Janssen global external supply base with main hubs in the U.S., Europe and Asia.

Cyrille Ghorayeb is Lebanese, currently living in Switzerland and working in J&J Zug. She joined Janssen in January this year as a Senior Manager working in the Strategic Capacity Management team. She is responsible for the long-range planning process for the Large Molecule FF portfolio, ensuring efficient & On-time supply of Medicines to patients. Cyrille graduated as an Electrical and Mechanical engineer and worked as a designer and contractor in Lebanon. She then went to INSEAD to get her MBA. After INSEAD, Cyrille held various roles in Unilever Supply Chain and J&J Consumer, ranging from operational excellence to procurement. She was able to leverage her depth of engineering knowledge to develop and implement well-conceived strategies to deliver the product On Time, In Full, with highest Quality and lowest costs possible Throughout her career, Cyrille has always made sure to surround herself with diverse & passionate peers. She is part of the WiSTEM2D EMEA Professional Board, in order to further enable and advocate for gender parity in the workplace

Mandy Spohrer is a Global Operations Leadership Development (GOLD) Program Associate at Johnson & Johnson. She is currently in her second rotation as an Engineer on the Clearwater team at Ethicon Endo. In her first rotation as an Associate Scientist on the Technical Operations team in Malvern, PA, Mandy supported the Janssen Pharmaceuticals manufacturing process at Malvern through continuous process improvement initiatives, quarterly process data analysis in the continuous process validation (CPV) report, and regular process maintenance activities. In 2018, Mandy joined Johnson & Johnson as a Co-op with the Janssen Supply Chain (JSC) Network Strategy team. Over the course of the role she supported various network assessments as well as the New Product Modality report, published annually. She also served as the team’s decision support lead (DSL). Mandy received her master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Northeastern University with a graduate certificate in Engineering Management, and she received her bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
