Ming is the data engineering director at AMFAM. She and her team are doing transformational engineering work to democratize data and technologies, two key enabling factors for data driven decision making. Ming started her career at AMFAM 13 years ago as a solution architect. She found her passion for data and analytics while working on the Usage Based Insurance (UBI) program and later joined the data science division as the data analysis manager. She has grown her team from a traditional data analyst team to a sophisticated data engineering team with skills in distributed computing, cloud services, data modeling and programming. Now she is leading the Google Cloud adoption effort to build an enterprise data platform. This new platform is changing the way people are doing analytics. Her team projects include E1P claims reporting and E1P pricing tools. Prior to AMFAM, Ming worked in the banking and credit card industry as a Java Architect.
Ming holds a master degree in mechanical engineering from National University of Singapore. Her lobby list includes cooking, hiking, gardening and jogging.
Telisa Yancy is Chief Operating Officer at American Family Insurance, a Madison, Wisconsin-based Fortune 300 mutual insurance company selling auto, homeowners, life, commercial and farm/ranch insurance. Yancy joined American Family in 2009 as advertising director. She subsequently became vice president of Marketing, then Chief Marketing Officer before being named COO in 2019. Prior to joining American Family, Yancy held general management, sales, marketing and P&L leadership positions with Burger King Corporation and Ford Motor Company.
In addition to her achievements at American Family, Yancy is recognized in the broader business community as a creative thinker and transformational leader. She was named one of the most powerful women in corporate America by Black Enterprise in 2019 and 2020, honored by Ebony as part of its Power 100 in 2016, and has consistently been recognized by Savoy Magazine as one of the Top Influential Women in Corporate America since 2016 and a Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America lists since 2014, including a 2020 listing.
Yancy holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from the University of Illinois and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Business. Telisa is a native of the southside of Chicago and has held positions in Minneapolis, Detroit, Seattle, Atlanta, Miami and now Madison, Wisconsin.
Janet Dettmann is the Sales Strategy & Support Vice President at American Family Insurance, a Madison, Wisconsin-based Fortune 300 company selling auto, homeowners, life, business and farm/ranch insurance. Janet has also held positions with American Family Insurance as Product Management Associate Vice President, and Next Generation Product Development Director. Prior to joining American Family in 2009, she held business development and merchandising roles with Famous Footwear, along with store management, sales and merchandising roles at The Limited.
Janet serves as Governing Committee Chairperson on the Wisconsin Insurance Plan and serves on the Wisconsin Insurance Commissioner’s P&C Advisory Council. She has a bachelor’s degree in consumer science and master’s degree in business (MBA). Additionally, has a masters certificate in project management, a Lean Six Sigma yellow belt, holds an Associate in General Insurance (AINS), and a charter property casualty underwriter (CPCU) candidate member designation.
Liz Gutierrez is a Sales Planning Manager in the Sales Division of American Family Insurance currently based in Madison, Wisconsin. Liz has been in the American Family Insurance since 2005. She started her career as a Customer Service Representative in a local agency in Tucson, AZ where she became the Office Manager. In 2013 she joined the Sales Division at American Family and has advanced her career through various roles: Agency Sales Manager Assistant, State Analyst and now Sales Planning Manager.
Liz credits her career progression to the opportunities that she’s had at American Family Insurance:

American Family Insurance's Business Resource Groups (BRGs) are helping the company bring diverse perspectives forward.
