"Great if you want a job, but not promotion. Managers are not well trained, and often very bad at running programs or managing. Faculty are not natural leaders and make difficult and inexperienced managers. "

"HR didn't process it correctly, the insurance I paid for only covered the first 6 weeks - not 12. None of this came to life until I began maternity leave. I was assured it covered 12 weeks by HR. THey now cover 6 weeks paid, and I would encourage you to double check if the insurance REALLY covers the next 6 weeks. "

"At Universities, there is a hierarchy which can put employees at the bottom. Also, because staffing turnover is low (tenure) there can be a lot of antiquated ideas about the roles of women in the workplace. Be ready to have it assumed that you're a secretary/admin rather than in leadership."
