    For me, I saw a lot women in leadership roles, and that extended beyond the lawyers on partner track. But within the staff levels, it was difficult to navigate the political landscape with the male leaders who seemed to celebrate mediocre male accomplishments over women.

Working with the right partner and senior is everything. There are people who are proud of the fact that they have no outside life, brag about working all-nighters and talk about missing the birth of their children. Sadly, these people are not rare -- even if they may be in the minority. The fact that the culture tolerates that kind of thing speaks volume about the possibility of having work-life balance at this firm.
