Enterprise Technology Services (ETS) is part of IS&T and delivers global-scale platforms and services that keep Apple's operations secure and running. The team manages identity, device security, and anti-abuse platforms - covering everything from manufacturing and repairs to software updates and activations. ETS also oversees supply chain, manufacturing, and partner integration platforms, protecting data on more than 2.5 billion devices worldwide. And when Apple prepares for a global product launch, ETS owns the systems that ramp factory production - managing serial numbers, network credentials, and verified software.
Description
We are looking for a motivated and talented software engineer to work on server-side security software development in the distributed database environment. This software enables Apple to further improve the security features of current and future products. It requires a deep understanding of various security concepts and design patterns to produce high-quality, highly scalable multi-tenant applications.
You are also expected to work with partners, project managers, and cross-discipline teams to understand and capture requirements. Lastly, you should be passionate about writing good quality code and appropriate to go through the scrutiny of detailed audits.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to work independently and collaborate well within a distributed team environment
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Minimum Qualifications
Experience in programming with a focus on developing high quality, robust and high available software solutions
Deep programming expertise in Java and the J2EE stack, including Spring Security,
Hibernate/JPA, REST API development, React.js and microservices-based design.
Ideally 4-8 years of proven experience in Java and J2EE development, including Security Engineering
Understanding of PKI, X.509, ASN.1, key exchange protocols, and authentication protocols
Good understanding of various distributed system concepts, Oracle, Kaea and caching.
Strong foundation in developing and integrating ML and generative AI models
Experience with Linux/Unix platforms and proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Bash.
