WWDR also offers programs to help developers connect with experts, learn about the latest Apple tools and technologies, and adopt best practices to supercharge app development.

We are seeking a creative and dedicated Technology Evangelist to join our WWDR team.

Description
We are seeking an AI-first Technical Evangelist with deep systems engineering expertise in AI/ML runtimes and a passion for driving ecosystem adoption. In this role, you will work directly with developers to deliver fun, compelling, and state-of-the-art app experiences to our customers.

The ideal candidate is both a hands-on systems practitioner who masters model inference, runtimes, and performance tuning, and a trusted two-way conduit between external strategic developers and Apple's internal engineering and product teams. You will champion developer needs, influence senior technical leadership, and accelerate the scale and adoption of cutting-edge AI technologies across world-class applications on Apple platforms.","responsibilities":"Collaborate with strategic developers, developer communities, and internal stakeholders to lead initiatives that help developers deliver magical, AI-powered experiences across Apple platforms.
Act as a trusted two-way bridge: synthesize patterns from developer interactions, isolate systemic API friction points or performance gaps, file precise technical feedbacks, and create and land actionable technical engagement plan.
Evangelize design principles, development tools, and AI frameworks to developers across Greater China, guiding technical roadmaps and driving high-quality adoption of Apple AI technologies at scale.
Cultivate trust-based relationships with senior leaders at key strategic developer accounts, from indie creators to enterprise CXOs, VP of Engineering, and Heads of AI.
Represent Apple's strategic platforms at global developer conferences, technical workshops, and community initiatives, presenting complex AI paradigms with clarity and conviction.
Rapidly self-onboard into unfamiliar architectures, frameworks, and academic research, turning new concepts into working code and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to inspire developers.

Preferred Qualifications
Degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., computer science, information technology, math, or physics), or equivalent practical experience.
Deep understanding of hardware-software co-design, including Apple Silicon unified memory, GPU/NPU/Neural Engine execution, memory bandwidth limits, compute-bound vs. memory-bound latency, and quantization (FP8, INT4, KV cache compression).
Proven experience translating low-level AI capabilities into tangible products, high-quality native apps, or intuitive developer tools/SDKs.
Familiarity with modern client-side ecosystems and building visually engaging user interfaces (e.g., Swift, SwiftUI, Python, TypeScript tooling).
Obsession with the developer and customer experience, bridging the full spectrum from AI Model to Inference Runtime to System Layer to End-User Application.
Experience in developing immersive and AR spatial applications (visionOS) is a strong plus.
Thrives in a fast-paced, fluid, and ambiguous environment with competing priorities, demonstrating high autonomy and relentless technical ownership.

Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of software development experience, with a multi-year track record of hands-on AI/ML engineering well beyond integrating pre-built or commercial APIs.
Solid grasp of modern AI architectures (LLMs, Diffusion, Multimodal models) across the full lifecycle: training, conversion, quantization, and edge deployment.
Battle-tested expertise in AI inference optimization, custom runtimes, serving engines, and pipeline acceleration (proficiency in MLX, Core ML / Core AI, ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, vLLM, or equivalent).
Exceptional hands-on coding and debugging skills, with the ability to dive into complex codebases and resolve deep architectural roadblocks.
Effective and influential communicator with the ability to quickly understand others' needs, make strategic decisions, and lead execution.
Fluency in English and Mandarin is required to effectively engage partners at all levels.
