Paid maternity
Yes, we offer 100% paid pregnancy-related medical leave up to 16 weeks plus 15 days of gradual return. You and your manager can work out the rhythm that's best for you!
Paid paternity
Yes, for parental leave (including secondary caregivers, not just dads!) we offer 100% paid leave up to 8 weeks.
Short term disability
Yes, our employer-paid coverage pays a monthly benefit if you have a covered illness or injury and you can’t work for a period up to 12 weeks.
Paid adoptive
Yes, all employees are eligible for 8 weeks of parental leave in addition to 4 weeks of adoption leave for a placement of a child due to adoption or foster care. We also assist with adoption expenses of up to $10K annually, up to $20K, reimbursed through Carrot Fertility.

Lactation facilities
Yes, our three dedicated nursing rooms are clean, cozy, and appointed with a full sink, cleaning supplies, fridge, and storage. Soft lighting, a cozy chair and blanket, and a locking door help moms feel comfortable.
Post maternity
Yes, to support our Gurus and their families, we offer a 100% paid gradual return plan of 3 weeks.
On-ramping/Off-ramping parental leave
Yes, we offer a 15-day gradual return to work policy at 100% pay. You and your manager can work out the plan that's best for you. We plan to launch a buddy system in 2023 that will aid the transition for parents returning from leave.
Fertility
Yes, all employees receive fertility health and family-forming benefits, including adoption assistance, through Carrot Fertility. These include assisted reproduction like in vitro fertilization, preservation like egg or sperm freezing, adoption, gestational carrier arrangements, pregnancy, menopause, and more.
Maternity leave coaching
Yes, all employees can access 1:1 coaching sessions with nutritionists, lactation consultants, and doulas through our partnership with Carrot Fertility.
Care-taking benefits
Backup child care
Yes, our premium Care.com membership gives Gurus access to babysitters, nannies, senior caregivers, home health aides, dog walkers, pet sitters, and more, as well as 8 free days of emergency backup care for all employees.
Care-taking PTO
Yes, we offer unlimited sick leave and personal time off. Gurus tend to use the latter for medical appointments, parent-teacher conferences, religious holidays we don't have off, etc.
Elder care
Yes, CarGurus' Dependent Care FSA helps employees cover eligible work-related dependent care expenses, including those associated with an elderly parent. Employees can also access senior care guidance and support through our premium Care.com membership.
