Creative Director, Storytelling - Japan

説明
This role is a senior position responsible for two core streams of work: originating bold creative for Japan and ensuring global creative translates powerfully within the market.

First, the Creative Director will lead the development of original concepts and copy for Japan marketing initiatives. Working with a team of writers and in close partnership with design, they will guide world-class creative across owned retail spaces, non-owned environments, and digital platforms including Apple.com and Line. The role sets the creative standard for the region; shaping ideas from concept through execution while ensuring work is strategically grounded, culturally resonant, and on brand.

Second, the Creative Director will lead a team translating and editing of U.S. creative work for the Japanese market. This includes leading an internal creative team, a network of freelance writers, and agency partners to ensure global campaigns and product launches land with clarity, craft, and cultural relevance in the region.

Across both areas, the role champions strong ideas, exceptional writing, and the development of creative talent.

Highly conceptual and strategic thinker with strong instincts for big ideas, grounded in insight and developed into compelling narratives across campaigns and channels.
Exceptional writing and editorial judgment, with a belief that great work comes through thoughtful editing, refinement, and craft.
Deep appreciation for language and storytelling, with an understanding of the complexities of adapting copy for West Coast U.S. audiences to resonate authentically in Japanese markets.

Deep respect for diverse creative perspectives, with a proven ability to mentor and develop talent while fostering an inclusive team environment.
Skilled at balancing conceptual campaign thinking with the craft required to execute and localize work effectively at scale.
Comfortable navigating complex organisations and creative processes within large, fast-moving operations.
Ability to communicate effectively in English in professional contexts, including leading and participating in discussions, presenting ideas clearly, and producing well-written communication.
