Responsibilities

About the Team
An exciting and challenging new opportunity has arisen for a talented, experienced and forward-thinking senior lawyer to join our legal team supporting the Monetization and Ad Sales business teams at TikTok. We are looking for a highly skilled commercial lawyer to join the Global Monetization Legal Team and, more specifically, play a vital part supporting our operations in Asia (China Outbound, Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea).

This role will be based in Singapore. Our ideal candidate brings private practice and in-house experience of supporting sales, marketing and commercial functions. It is a broad role serving a variety of stakeholders and provides an excellent opportunity to get close to TikTok's business operations in Asia.

You will thrive in an environment that asks you to deliver at pace, juggle competing priorities, work to short turnaround times and bring your energy and enthusiasm to respond quickly to a business that is scaling fast. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in a company that is enjoying hyper growth on a truly international scale.

Responsibilities
- You will serve as a legal advisor and business partner to TikTok's sales, marketing and monetisation functions primarily across Asia. There will be a particular focus on the China Outbound business which serves China-based clients looking to advertise to a global audience on the TikTok platform.
- You will draft, review and negotiate a wide range of agreements including but not limited to:
- sales contracts with media buying agencies and brands that use the TikTok platform;
- trading and partnership agreements with media buying clients;
- sponsorship agreements;
- partnership and collaboration agreements;
- service agreements and statements of work, including creative agency, production and event management agreements;
- agreements governing creative assets provided by our in-house team, talent agreements and image releases;
- non-disclosure agreements; and
- platform terms of use, privacy policies and guidelines.
- You will advise on key legal and regulatory issues relating to TikTok's monetisation operations and products, and provide business stakeholders with legal and compliance advice across a wide range of subject areas, including advertising, marketing, privacy, intellectual property, platform/publisher liability, product liability, contract and consumer protection laws.
- You will advise on marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- You will be responsible for knowledge management, template development and maintenance (including playbooks), process improvement and training (both within legal and the wider sales and marketing functions).
- You will instruct and liaise with external counsels as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in a leading private practice law firm &/or an in-house legal department, preferably in a technology company;
- Admitted to practice law in Singapore or any Commonwealth jurisdiction;
- Significant experience drafting, negotiating and advising on sales and commercial contracts;
- Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and work well in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines within short time constraints whilst maintaining the utmost attention to detail;
- Strong commercial acumen and be comfortable taking commercial decisions and working closely with business stakeholders;
- Possess strong communication skills and presentation skills with business fluency in Mandarin and English, as this role will require reading and drafting documents and communicating with stakeholders based in China in both languages
- Ability to work well as part of a larger global team with effective information sharing and collaboration skills, demonstrate curiosity and have a growth mindset.

Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to digital platforms, advertising, and consumer protection
