    Kristen is a Sr. Process Manager in The Garage (our Dallas Innovation Center) as well as a chapter lead for EmpowHER, our Women’s Business Resource Group. As a working mom, Kristen is passionate about helping women realize their potential and supporting them through various aspects of their lives. In addition to her involvement in EmpowHER, Kristen also leads an internal group called Mom to Mom, which focuses on supporting new moms in their transition back to Capital One after maternity leave.

      We’ve designed our benefits program to be flexible, comprehensive and consistent across our organization. You’ll discover that Capital One is committed to helping you live your best life.

      Parental Leave
      New mothers can receive 18 weeks of 100% paid Maternity Leave. The 18 weeks will be broken down as 10 weeks of Short-Term Disability and 8 weeks of Parental Leave. You can think of it as 10 weeks for healing and 8 weeks for bonding. The bonding period for all Parental Leaves is 8 weeks. This includes Paternity, Adoption/Foster Care, and Birth via a Surrogate. Associates have a full calendar year after the birth or placement of their new child to use their 8 weeks of Parental Leave, and can take it all at once or in a minimum of 2-week increments. Associates can even use 2 of those weeks prior to the expected arrival (pre-partum or pre-placement) of their child.

      Capital One is excited to offer our associates fertlity benefits through our partnership with WINFertility. The WINFertility Program helps patients receive the highest quality care for fertility treatment services. WIN assists in maximizing your insured benefit by explaining the most effective treatment options based on your individual treatment needs, helping select a high quality, in-network provider, and managing your infertility prescriptions to ensure you get the most out of your infertility medication benefit.

      Adoption/Surrogacy Reimbursement
      The Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement Programs provide up to $35,000 per child in financial support to associates who build their families through adoption or surrogacy. Capital One reimburses a portion of eligible expenses including attorney fees, court costs, licensed adoption and surrogacy agency fees, international adoption fees, and some medical and travel expenses.

      In addition to Holiday, Vacation and Paid Time Off, associates may also have access to Family Care Days, Personal Leaves of Absence, Sick Leave, Parental Leave, Family and Medical Leave, and Military Leave.

      For times when regular care plans fall through, Capital One is proud to offer Back-up Child and Adult/Elder Care to our associates. Through these programs, we do our very best to find someone to care for your family members when you need to be at work and your regular care arrangements are unavailable.

      To help our associates achieve better work/life balance, Capital One offers up to 15 days of back-up child and family care per year through our partners at Bright Horizons. Associates can also access expert guidance for their child’s higher education through Bright Horizon’s College Coach program.
